Tayba Al Hashemi brings more than 20 years of industry experience across a range of technical disciplines and leadership positions. In her current role, she leads a team of 8,000 people and works with seven international partners to safely deliver around half of Abu Dhabi’s oil and gas production and sustainably grow the business to help meet the world’s growing energy demand.

Al Hashemi previously served as CEO of ADNOC Sour Gas from 2020 until 2023, establishing the company as a competitive and reliable gas supplier.

In 2018, Al Hashemi became the first female CEO of an ADNOC Group company after she was appointed CEO of Al Yasat Petroleum Operations Company.

From 2013 to 2018, Al Hashemi held a series of leadership position in ADNOC’s Upstream directorate including Senior Vice President, Undeveloped Reservoirs, unlocking reserves in support of ADNOC’s growth strategy and delivering the world’s largest offshore sour gas project, Senior Vice President, Exploration, where she restructured ADNOC’s development and exploration strategies and Vice President, Development, where she was responsible for managing ADNOC’s onshore oil and gas portfolio.

Since 2021, Al Hashemi has chaired ADIPEC, the world’s largest energy conference hosted annually in Abu Dhabi, leading cross-industry collaboration efforts to help shape the future of the energy industry.

In addition, Al Hashemi is a board member of ADNOC Logistics & Services, ADNOC Onshore, Al Yasat Petroleum, Bunduq Company Limited, Ethihad Water and Electricity and the United Arab Emirates University (UAEU). She is also a member of several committees and professional bodies, including ADNOC’s Gender Balance Committee and the Society of Petroleum Engineers.

She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering from UAEU, Al Ain.
