Michelle Foss
Dr. Michot Foss, Advisor, L’Acadie Network, has 45 years in energy and materials research and consulting with extensive international experience. She is a distinguished fellow, Energy Policy Research Foundation and collaborator at Rice University’s Carbon Hub, focused on commercializing advanced carbon materials.
At Rice she held a fellowship in Energy, Minerals and Materials, Baker Institute for Public Policy, Center for Energy Studies. Dr. Michot Foss retired as chief energy economist and head of the Bureau of Economic Geology’s Center for Energy Economics at The University of Texas at Austin.
Previously, Dr. Michot Foss was a research professor and Shell Interdisciplinary Scholar at University of Houston, and director of research at investment bank Simmons & Company International and at Rice Center.
She serves on the board of directors for Consumer Energy Alliance and on advisory councils for Energy Intelligence Group, the North American Energy Standards Board and Missouri University of Science & Technology’s O’Keefe Center for Critical Minerals. She is a member of the government affairs committees for the Women’s Mining Coalition and the Materials Research Society. She is past president of both the International Association for Energy Economics and the United States Association for Energy Economics, where she was also named a senior fellow.
She is a scientist and political economist with degrees from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette, Colorado School of Mines, and the University of Houston.
